Mutual Alignment is Required for Success

We have developed an effective approach to our consulting engagements. This approach has resulted in strong partnerships and shared successes with our clients.

STEP 1

Matchmaking

STEP 1

Matchmaking

We start with an introductory call and discuss the following:

  • Vision and goals
  • Opportunities, challenges, “pain points”
  • Current status of planning and execution activities

Follow-up discussions will engage the following:

  • Leadership team / organizational structure
  • Clear imperative for change
  • Alignment of the “new” initiative with existing priorities
  • Defining targets – what do you want to evolve or build
  • Goals assessment – what do you want to achieve versus what is achievable

Additional discussions and calls may be necessary to fully explore and discuss your needs, goals, and plans

STEP 2

Planning

STEP 2

Planning

Once we have established a foundation for the engagement from step one, we continue on to analytical discussions regarding working together as partners. We determine fit and alignment between our two organizations. If there is a mutual confirmation of effective collaboration, we schedule an initial site visit. This step in our approach is flexible depending on the scope of activities and anticipated requirements of the organization.

We conduct an extensive, detailed evaluation of all involved work areas, clinicians, administrative leaders, business opportunities, leadership development, financial considerations, planners and other services. Challenges, issues, obstacles, and opportunities will be fully defined at this stage – these will be assembled into a recommended “blueprint for action.”

After review of the draft blueprint for action, involved leaders will work with us iteratively to finalize institutional priorities and alignment with existing strategies. The blueprint for action will then be finalized and translated into a plan of execution.

STEP 3

Execution

STEP 3

Execution

This last stage of our approach is straight up “getting things done,” directed by the healthcare organization, and actively coached by us. These are inclusive, “both hands on the steering wheel” active processes.

Weekly conference calls and monthly on-site visits are scheduled. Active interventions, guidance of teams and task forces, crisis communications, assistance with development of financial and other model(s), support of change management strategies and other necessary activities occur at this stage of the engagement.

During each site visit, leaders are provided with a detailed progress report and opportunity to adjust ongoing activities. Client teams will work shoulder-to-shoulder with the Trajectory Group throughout all stages of ongoing projects and will benefit from our active guidance and expertise.

The secret of success is constancy of purpose.
